Notes on My Approach
the method
I take a documentary-style approach to all sessions, including--and especially--weddings. This means that I will not facilitate a "pretend first look" or ask you to redo the kiss at the altar. Instead, I will be following quietly along and photographing things exactly as they are.
group photos
The exception to all that I mentioned above: group photos! I will always make time for formal wedding party, family, and bride & groom portraits, unless you opt out of that for any reason. I can absolutely appreciate the fact that it isn't often you have all of your favorite people in one place, and I'm 100% down for a fun portrait to commemorate that.
ARTistry & truth
I take on a very limited number of weddings per year. I am the right fit for couples who care about the real and raw of the day, and are happy to consider me a "fly on their wedding wall" rather than a dictator running the timeline. If you would prefer a more hands-on, posed approach, I am more than happy to send you recommendations for someone who will be a better fit!

I service all of Western Washington with no travel fee, as well as all of the Hawaiian Islands for a very small travel fee. For all other areas, I am more than happy to send trusted recommendations for photographers who can best serve you in that location.

Relax and lean into each other and everything will be perfect! I'll provide gentle direction as needed, and you can trust your images will be beautiful because they are capturing what is REAL.

"Technically", I qualify an intimate wedding as one with 30 guests or less. But I use the term intimate moreso to describe the general vibe of an event.
