Ferry Sessions are offered from early May through early October on the Bremerton - Seattle route only.

I want to change that by inviting you & yours to show up authentically and focus on connecting with each other, not posing next to each other. I'll take care of the rest.

the method
Ferry Sessions are offered May through August, on the Tuesday and Wednesday 6:40pm sailings from Bremerton. September through October, sessions will be offered on Saturday mornings, specific time pending the fall ferry schedule release.
logistics & support
I understand that family photos can be stressful enough as-is, and I don't want the added transportation element to be another point of friction! That's why I wrote an easy-to-skim guide for all of my ferry session clients with ticket info, logistics, outfit ideas, boarding options, and more. And if anything else comes up, I'm here to help.

Family photos are not a point-and-shoot situation to me. I want you and the people you love to look back on these images and feel like you were truly seen in that season of life. I don't shy away from fussy babies or grumpy toddlers or teenager eyerolls or windblown hair. I embrace it all as the raw truth of here & now; the way your life looks today, messy and sassy and grumpy and joyful, is beautiful just as it is.

Offered Tuesday and Wednesday evenings for the 6:40pm Bremerton > Seattle sailing. You'll receive next-day sneak peeks and your full gallery back in your inbox within three weeks. 35mm film scans are included in your session.

All ferry sessions include an additional 20+ film images scanned into your digital gallery, with the prints shipped straight to your doorstep with a thank you note from me. There is truly nothing like film, and especially film on the ferry.
Fifty minutes of coverage--from departure till the WSDOT folks tell us on the speaker it is time to head back to the car--and 45 + digital images of our time together.

You'll read allllll about my approach throughout my website, but I'll reiterate it here: I am not a dictator and I am not here to create a caricature of your life. I want you and your family to come exactly as you are in this season, enjoy the views, and enjoy each other's company. There is no expectation of perfection and I've dealt with a million kid personalities over the course of my life. Please know how earnestly I mean this. <3

Yes! You'll receive a handful of edited images within 24 hours of your session, because as Daniel Tiger often says, "it's hard to wait".
DO YOU SEND SNEAK PEEKS?
I do not. The one hour Bremerton > Seattle crossing is the perfect amount of time to hang out and document your family, and anything else (Bainbridge or Kingston) would feel too short!
do you offer sessions on other ferry routes?
Perfect--I'm excited to meet them!
my kids are wild/shy/moody.
Yes. While 99% of our session will be focused on play and movement, I always prioritize getting a few "formal" portraits with everybody looking at the camera, for good measure.
will there be *any* posed photos?

I recommending scheduling as soon as Ferry Session booking opens, around mid-April. This is a seasonal offering with limited availability due to the additional travel time and weather/sunset dependency, and I don't want you to have to wait until next year (unless you really want to!).
How far in advance should we book?
Any! Babies, as you know, are kind of intrigued by everything considering they just got here, so they'll be entertained. Toddlers love boats. Older kids love looking for things in the water. Teenagers love looking out the window mysteriously. Bring everybody!
what ages are best for ferry sessions?
My sessions involve no pressure and no posing marathons. We keep things playful and cozy, and I always let the littles take the lead, offering gentle guidance as we move along. I am not here to create a stale and perfect caricature of your family--you deserve more than that--I am a quiet, loving witness to your connection, dynamics, and unique personalities. If you're less into forced smiles and more into photos you can feel, we might be a good fit.
