Family photos have a bad reputation for turning into an hour of fighting hungry toddlers in scratchy outfits and praying everyone's eyes were open for at least one photo. I want to change that by inviting you & yours to show up authentically and focus on connecting with each other, not posing next to each other. I'll take care of the rest.

the method
Before we dive into the picture-taking, I will chat with you while quietly observing the energy of your littles. I have a very sensitive 2.5-year-old and a happy-go-lucky 1 year old, so I well know how impactful matching my energy to theirs can be in making things run more smoothly.
play & movement
With the exception of a few "traditional" posed family portraits, I will not ask you to stay still and smile at the camera. Most of your images will be captured while you are interacting with each other and with your kiddos, and I encourage you to lean into that connection and play, relax, and truly enjoy each other's distraction-free company.
ARTistry & truth
Family photos are not a point-and-shoot situation to me. I want you and the people you love to look back on these images and feel like you were truly seen in that season of life. I don't shy away from fussy babies or grumpy toddlers or teenager eyerolls. I embrace it all as the raw truth of here & now; the way your life looks today, messy and sassy and grumpy and joyful, is beautiful just as it is.
Full Session (1-1.5 hr)
Full sessions are offered in-home or in-studio year-round, with outdoor locations available beginning in May through September. You'll receive sneak peeks within 24 hours and your full downloadable gallery will be in your inbox within two weeks: complete with 50+ unique images of the time we spent together.
Mini Sessions (15 min)
Fifteen minute slots and 10 photos, perfect for grabbing a few quick shots for your Christmas cards and get some updated portraits of your kids this year (because they really do grow so fast). Holiday minis slots are released in August; please contact me directly if you are interested in a mini session outside of this.
Relaxed, comprehensive coverage of a sweet pocket in your day, for families looking for time to connect and create art they'll look back on for a lifetime.
Efficient time slots for a quick update to your family photos. Minis are available in November (holiday set) only, with exceptions made on a case-by-case basis throughout the year.
Day in the Life
If you've ever wanted to bottle up a day from this season of life to remember forever, this is your chance. Before your session, we'll hop on a planning call to discuss a loose itinerary that best represents your family and the things you love. I'll follow you for up to eight hours, and you'll receive 375+ images back in your full gallery, along with a short film and a sweet "thank you" gift for inviting me along.
From brunch to bedtime, a visual documentary of what it's like to be a part of your family. The ultimate session experience and the perfect gift for mama.

My primary service areas are Kitsap County and Gig Harbor, but I photograph families up and down the Puget Sound for a small travel fee! If you're not sure whether your location is included, don't hesitate to reach out.

Yes. While 99% of our session will be focused on play and movement, I always prioritize getting a few "formal" portraits with everybody looking at the camera, for good measure.

I recommend scheduling your newborn session in advance, and picking a day that is within 2 weeks of your due date--babies are often the sleepiest during this timeframe, which makes the whole experience a little easier and more relaxed. I offer a totally flexible rescheduling policy if baby arrives earthside early or late or even if you decide you're just not ready for company yet.
when should we schedule newborn photos for?
Holiday Minis take place in early November, and the first people to hear about them are my email subscribers and Instagram followers. Priority booking will go live in late August for email subscribers, and opens to the public in early September. The event will sell out--so be quick!
how do we book Holiday minis?
My sessions involve no pressure and no posing marathons. We keep things playful and cozy, and I always let the littles take the lead, offering gentle guidance as we move along. I am not here to create a stale and perfect caricature of your family--you deserve more than that--I am a quiet, loving witness to your connection, dynamics, and unique personalities. If you're less into forced smiles and more into photos you can feel, we might be a good fit.
