I'm a Kitsap-based family photographer focused on the in-between moments and the sweet telling of your family's true story. I love to photograph families in their homes, right in the middle of their real, everyday lives, and I design my sessions to feel relaxed, playful, and easy (it's important to me that you not only love my images, but also love the way I capture them). If you're less into awkward poses and more into images that take you back to the days you never want to forget--we're probably a good fit.

I'm Kiana Re'
(Re' like DoReMiFaSoLa, but you can just call me Kiana). I'm a people watcher at heart, so naturally, a photographer by trade. I think family photography should be less formulaic and rushed - and instead, an opportunity to be lovingly witnessed and artistically documented in a way that truly reflects this season of life for you. I care deeply about these moments of your life, and I do not take it lightly that you're allowing me to hold them. I never want you to forget these moments that set the stage for all the good-ness that’s coming.
The experience is as important as the photos.
That's why my sessions follow the leads of the littles, which means that I don't run in and shove a camera in your faces and demand that everybody smile right now. Some kids will stare me down from behind your legs and others will chase me down to show me each of their 57 hot wheels. Either is perfect. It is important to me that I get a feel for everybody's energy so I can figure out how to best engage them throughout the session. This might look like playful prompting, questions about their toys or their house or their school, or sometimes--especially for nervous kids--just letting them be so they can get used to having someone new in their space without the pressure of me looking at them. I will never demand that your kids smile or pose, I will never ask you to refrain from feeding your newborn until we're done taking photos, and I will never say no to a toddler who needs a snack break (or a pregnant mama who needs any kind of break!) When I say come as you are, I truly mean it, and I want you to not only love your photos, but also love the memory of slowing down and having some time together in front of the camera. Weddings & Elopements
I take on a very limited number of weddings per year. I am the right fit for couples who care about the real and raw of the day, and are happy to consider me a "fly on their wedding wall" rather than a dictator running the timeline. I am a quiet witness. I will not ask you to fake a first look moment or pretend to read your vows. In fact, I won't really ask you for anything at all. The most direction I will give is during the couples, family, and bridal party portraits—and I am otherwise totally hands off, camera on. You are investing in an artist to tell the story of your day, not fabricate a caricature of what actually happened, so I focus wholeheartedly on documenting your connection and truth, exactly and however that unfolds in front of me.
